What can I do to be ready in case I have low blood glucose (sugar)?
Low blood glucose, or low blood sugar, is serious. It is when your blood glucose is below 70 mg/dL.
It is important to be ready in case you have low blood glucose . Make sure you:
- Know the signs of low blood glucose and how to treat it.
- Always have something to treat low blood glucose with you, like glucose tabs or a juice box. See your “treating low/high blood glucose” box .
- Have a medical ID with you (such as a bracelet or necklace) or create a medical ID on your phone. In case of an emergency, medical ID’s share important information about your health.
